At around seven we all went outside to enjoy dinner. The rushes became much stronger but I didn’t give in to them until we got back inside and finished bedtime prayers with our two children. We moved to the living room and I labored on the birth ball, now believing babies were near. My husband stayed close to me. He filled the bathtub and we kissed in between contractions. Towels and sheets were laid down from the bathroom to our bed, just as I had seen throughout the pregnancy. I went back and forth between the toilet and squatting beside our bed, pushing with every urge. I felt what I knew to be Syllah’s head crowning and I called my husband over.
